Markins Q20iP-RD Panorama Shoe Q-Ball i-Type Ball Head

The Markins Q20iP is a Q20i series ball head (panorama shoe type / quick-turn type) recommended for large-format cameras and super-telephoto lenses.

The quick shoe mounted on top of the ball rotates 360°. Even if the tripod is tilted, you can level it using the ball, and the quick shoe will rotate while maintaining that level position, making it extremely convenient for outdoor panoramic photography.

Another major feature is its exceptional load capacity: even when you release your hands after mounting the camera, it remains firmly in place. Yet when you intentionally apply force, it moves smoothly, allowing for quick and precise composition adjustments.

The Q20i series is the top-of-the-line series with a load capacity of 50 kg. Other available series include the Q10i series (45 kg capacity) and the Q3i series (30 kg capacity). Across all series, the smooth movement and friction control that locks firmly in place are outstanding. They are highly regarded for ease of use and exceptional stability.

They can be used with confidence in any shooting environment, including extreme cold regions and dusty deserts.

For reference, load capacity standards vary among manufacturers and can be difficult to judge by numbers alone, so we have prepared a demonstration video. As you can see in the video, thanks to its astonishing load capacity, the equipment remains perfectly still even when you release your hands, yet it moves precisely according to the force applied. This enables safe and fast composition adjustments.

Therefore, you will not experience issues such as “loosening the lock to change composition and having the equipment suddenly drop,” or “a heavy lens gradually tilting downward even after being firmly tightened.”

QR-70P was developed by refining the conventional circular design, identifying optimal curves, and eliminating unnecessary elements. Without reducing the clamping surface area, it achieves a revolutionary design that minimizes size and weight.


By reexamining existing designs, a compact size has been achieved. Moreover, the height is only 24 mm. The lower center of gravity helps suppress vibration.


Equipped with a quick-turn knob that allows attachment and removal in approximately one rotation, enabling fast equipment changes.


The QR-70P features a newly developed double-disk panning system. Its wedge-shaped mechanism delivers 50% greater torque with minimal force. There is no axis wobble when locked, enabling high-clarity panoramic photography.
