The Markins Q3iQ is a recommended compact and lightweight ball head from the Q3i series.
The Q3i series supports a maximum load of 30 kg. Other series include the Q20i (50 kg load capacity) and the Q10i (45 kg load capacity). Across all series, Markins ball heads are renowned for their exceptionally smooth movement and precise friction control that locks exactly in place, offering outstanding ease of use and stability.
They can also be used with confidence in extreme cold, sandy deserts, and virtually any shooting environment.
For reference, load capacity standards vary among manufacturers, making it difficult to judge performance by numbers alone. Therefore, we have prepared a demonstration video. To clearly show that the head securely holds any equipment, we intentionally mounted an extremely heavy 9 kg test bar on a standard Q10i series ball head.

As shown in the video, the remarkable load capacity keeps your equipment firmly in place even when you let go, while still allowing smooth movement proportional to the applied force. This enables safe and quick composition adjustments.
You will not experience issues such as “the equipment suddenly dropping when you loosen the clamp to recompose” or “a heavy lens gradually tilting downward even when firmly tightened.”
